AFP Supports Empowering Communities and Parents: Reclaiming Control of Education in Montana
BOZEMAN, MT— Americans for Prosperity-Montana applauds the decision by the Trump administration to empower states and communities to take charge of their own educational needs.
Earlier this legislative session, lawmakers failed to advance legislation that would empower parents and help equip Montana’s students with an education tailored to their unique needs. But Montana’s education system is failing too many kids and improving school choice by empowering students and parents will help produce better outcomes.
AFP-Montana Deputy State Director Henry Kriegel issued the following statement:
“AFP has long supported policies that empower parents and students by taking back decision-making from Washington bureaucrats. Montana remains one of the only states in the region without a universal school choice law – lawmakers should follow the example of the Trump administration to help foster an environment of education freedom in Big Sky Country.
“This shift ensures that our parents, educators, and local communities are the ones steering education policy, creating a more personalized and responsive system that truly reflects the needs of Montana students.”
